The Purity Test has historically served as a segue from O-week to true college life at Rice.
It’s a voluntary opportunity for O-week groups to bond, and for students to track the maturation
of their experiences throughout college.

Your score:
Purity tests are a national phenomenon that have risen to widespread popularity within the last several years. It is defined by Wikipedia as A self-graded survey that assesses the participants supposed a degree of innocence in worldly matters (sex, drugs, deceit and other activities assumed to be vices). It is based off of a percentage scale with 100% being the most pure and 0% being the least pure.
EDMmeans points out on Cialis differences from other drugs for erectile dysfunction are in incredible speed and duration of action (up to two days). This makes it possible to please a girlfriend/wife with quality sex.
These tests are known to have existed since the mid-1930s, but only one has stood the test of time—The Rice Purity Test. The most popular of its kind, the Rice Purity Test particularly gained early popularity online in the 1980s. And over the last several years, a few different versions of the test have emerged. The fun, campy nature of the test has fueled its role as a staple of internet culture in the dawn of the Digital Age.
The assessment includes a list of 100 “Have You Ever” questions in order to gain a true sense of just how pure you are.
A few of these questions include but are not limited to:
- Have you ever kissed someone?
- Have you ever masturbated?
- Have you ever showered with a member of the preferred sex?
- Have you ever had a date past 1 a.m.?
- Have you ever held hands romantically?
- Seen or been seen by another person in a sensual context?
- Undressed or been undressed by a MPS (member of the preferred sex)?
- Masturbated with an inanimate object?
- Seen or been seen by another person in a sensual context?
Each question is designed to cover any sexual activity an individual has possibly ever done. In addition to these questions, the test also seeks to explore if any individual has ever been on the wrong side of the law.
Why The Rice Purity Test?
Many researchers are still trying to determine why this test is referred to as the “Rice Purity Test.” And while there are several reasons that can be attributed to the name, only one has stuck around the longest. Many years ago, a group of Rice University students—apparently joining within the self-proclaimed Pathetic Losers Club—created the test just to see how “pure” their peers on campus were.
While many have used the purity test as a way to determine whether or not they should be open to having sexual relations, the Rice Purity Test is really designed to be harmless on an individual level. In fact, most of these questions were created in good spirit as a way to get students to have an open and safe conversation about their sexuality (and/or lack thereof). In fact, students are more likely to take the Rice Purity Test than to take a private STD test because they feel the test offers a no-judgement-zone environment.
How to Take the Purity Test?
The rules for taking the Rice Purity Test are relatively easy. The test offers a Do and Don’t list that you can mark off with the corresponding check boxes.
In order for the test to be the most effective, it’s suggested that you offer full transparency. If you mess up on your test or answer incorrectly, erase your answers. If you want to see how your results stack up against others, make sure you first clear all of your results to make sure the results you receive are accurate.
- As you go through the checklist, check off the boxes that match your questions.
- If you have never done what the question is asked, move on. If you have, tick it.
- After you have finished the test, be sure to click on “calculate my score.”
- If you want to start over, make sure you clear all the boxes to ensure you are not receiving skewed results.
- The score of your purity test will range from 0 to 100. The higher your score is, the purer you are.
After Taking the Purity Test, Here’s What to Make of Your Results
Once you have taken the Rice Purity Test, the first thing you’re going to want to do is figure out just how pure you are. Of course, it’s practically a given that everyone who takes the test knows just how pure they are prior to taking the test. However, there is nothing more exciting than finding out if the test actually matches with the results you think you should deserve.
Below is a brief synopsis of how you can read your results, according to the test itself.
100 to 98: If you are privileged enough to receive this score, you are the purest of all humans. In fact, many have jokingly stated that those who receive this score are just as pure as the Virgin Mary. Being this pure is nearly impossible in this world of sexual exploration.
97 to 94: You may not be the purest of them all, but having a score this high is still unique. It shows that you have done a bit of kissing, maybe once or twice, and it also means you know the difference between sexual activity that’s either safe or extreme.
93 to 77: Surprisingly enough, the average person actually falls into this very same category. Those who receive scores within this range are likely to check off most of the items on the checklist but overall, they haven’t done anything too explicit.
Excellent items from you, Nidhi. I have bear in mind your stuff previous to and you’re simply extremely wonderful.
